The sessions we currently offer are:

World War II

The sessions we currently offer are:
• Evacuee Classroom Roleplay
• World War II Object Viewing
• World War II Pastimes

The Museum can also arrange bespoke virtual sessions for classes.

£60 per hour session for a class of up to 35 pupils.
The costs of bespoke sessions will vary. Please contact the Education Officer to discuss your options in further detail.

Natural and Local History

This cross-curricular day offers pupils the opportunity to get hands-on with the Museum’s object handling collection combined with a historical study of the 17th century founder of British natural history who came from Essex - John Ray.

The Victorians

Braintree District Museum is housed in a former Victorian School, providing the perfect setting for your Victorian
experience. The day is full of interactive and hands-on learning and can be run for KS1 or KS2 pupils.

World War II

This immersive day allows pupils to re-live the experience of a wartime evacuee, discovering the hardships and heroism of World War II with a focus on the local realities of the conflict.

We offer a flexible education outreach programme, which is designed to bring our dynamic and engaging workshops straight to your classroom.
