Natural and Local History

This cross-curricular day offers pupils the opportunity to get hands-on with the Museum’s object handling collection combined with a historical study of the 17th century founder of British natural history who came from Essex – John Ray.

The Victorians

Braintree District Museum is housed in a former Victorian School, providing the perfect setting for your Victorian
experience. The day is full of interactive and hands-on learning and can be run for KS1 or KS2 pupils.

World War II

This immersive day allows pupils to re-live the experience of a wartime evacuee, discovering the hardships and heroism of World War II with a focus on the local realities of the conflict.
