Based in the former Manor Street School building since 1993, the Museum conserves and celebrates the history of Braintree and its surrounding areas, focusing on the District’s industrial and cultural achievements as well as its many notable personalities.

Opening Hours and Admission

The Museum is open all year round.
Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am till 4pm
 (last admissions at 3.30pm)
Adults  £5
Concessions 65+  £3

Children 5 to 16 year olds  £3
under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult
Children under 5  Free
Friends of Braintree Museum, Museums Association, Art Pass  Free
Family Ticket £20*

*For a max of 4 people, giving museum admission for 12 month from date purchased, excludes events, gift aid optional, only available for purchase at the Museum.

Parking
The Museum has no onsite parking.
Please note that due to the Manor Street Regeneration, Manor and Victoria Street car parks opposite the Museum are now closed.

Public Transport
Braintree Train station with a direct line to London Liverpool Street, Witham and Chelmsford is a short walk.
Braintree Bus Park is located opposite the Museum with links to Witham, Colchester, Chelmsford, Halstead, Stansted Airport and more.
